Are children permitted?
Yes, we are a family friendly restaurant. Children and babies are welcome any time. We also have highchairs available. We also have baby changing facilities available.
Do I need to book?
We always recommend booking in advance, particularly during peak business hours.
When is dim sum available?
Dim sum is served Mon-Sat until 3pm, and every Sunday until 5pm.
Can you cater for food allergies?
We certainly can. Please let your server know when ordering. We have an extensive range of dishes available that are suitable for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diners.
Do you have private rooms available for hire?
Banquet Chinese is the ideal event venue to host your next gathering between family, friends and business associates. We offer two private function rooms for hire that accommodate parties, minimum size of 20, and up to 50 guests. PLEASE NOTE: A 10% service charge will be applied to the final bill for parties of 8 or more. We are pleased to be considered among the best venues for hire in the East Anglia region. Our services cater for various private functions, such as: - Birthday parties - Corporate meetings - Anniversary parties - Wedding parties - Chinese wedding banquet parties - Business lunch functions
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, they can be purchased in the restaurant. Please contact a member of staff.
Do you require a deposit for bookings?
A deposit of £10 per person is required for any parties of 6 or more.
Do you have parking available?
We have plenty of free parking available directly outside the restaurant (including several disabled spaces). Banquet Chinese is conveniently situated minutes from Colchester, Essex, town centre -welcoming guests from surrounding areas including Chelmsford, Ipswich, Braintree and Witham.
Do you have disabled access?
Yes, the main restaurant is accessible by wheelchair from the main car park. We also have a stair lift from the main restaurant to the toilets/function rooms. We also have a disabled toilet.
Can I order a take-away?
Of course. Take-aways are available on a collection only basis and are eligible for a 10% discount.
Do you accept Amex?
Yes, we accept all major credit cards including American Express.
What is the maximum table size?
Our largest table in the main dining area can seat up to 14 people.
Do you have a dress code?
Smart casual is preferred. We politely ask our customers to refrain from wearing baseball caps or flip flops/sandals.
